Boux Avenue Press Preview - Cabot Circus

Hello everyone!
I am so, so sorry for not blogging in ages! I have been so busy and just not had the time.

Anyway, on the 13th of September I went to the opening of Boux Avenue's 13th store in Cabot Circus, Bristol. If you haven't heard of it, Boux Avenue is a lingerie store owned by Theo Pathitis of Dragon's Den fame.

When I arrived I was amazed at the lovely layout of the store, and how classy and reasonably priced the merchandise was. The lingerie is displayed in draws so it is really easy to find the right size without knocking things off rails (which I usually do)! The decor is black & white with accents of pink and the whole place oozes luxury.

The staff were really lovely and extremely helpful, offering expert bra fittings (and it not being awkward, phew!). The fitting rooms are also TO DIE FOR. They have carpet flooring and 3 different light settings so you can see what you look like at dawn, dusk and night. The rooms also have names, like 'silk' or 'lace' which adds to the glamour.

Theo Pathitis was at the launch and was kind enough to give interviews to those who wanted them, I was far too nervous to ask of course but it was nice to see him so involved in the launch.

As 'press' we were given a gift bag, containing a voucher to spend in-store. I had already decided what I wanted to buy after my fitting so was thrilled that I could purchase it with my voucher! In regards to the quality of the garments I really have to say, this is the single most comfortable and best fitting bra I have EVER owned, and it was only £20 (which is the average price, some bra's are more expensive and some cheaper). I highly recommend this chain to anyone, especially if you're not sure what size you are!

Overall, I had a really enjoyable day and I will definitely shop here again. The value for money is incredible and the quality of service second to none!

If you have any questions/comments pop them in the box below!

Bargain necklace buy ♥

In case you haven't noticed in my Lust List's, I absolutely adore costume jewellery and frequently wear lots of different long gold necklaces. However, the other day I was watching 'Don't Trust the B**** in Apartment 23' (E4) and noticed one of the characters wearing the most adorable handcuff charm necklace! (Below) Even though this short chain and small charm isn't usually my style, I fell in love with the kitch simpleness of it and decided I'd better source myself a cheap copy!

After minimal looking on eBay, I found a similar copy for an absolutely bargain price of £2.99 and luckily, it came in gold too! Obviously, the copy is not as good quality as others out there, but it suits me just fine and I think it looks great.

Lana Del Rey's modelling campaign!

When I heard that Lana Del Rey was going to be the face of H&M's autumn/winter campaign I was rather excited! As an H&M employee myself it's easy to see how well Lana fits in with the brand, as her music and style appeal to the right demographic. Also, Del Rey is a very original, quirky character and this translates into the brands vision regarding the clothes they sell and the designs they create.

If you haven't seen the print campaign, here is a few of my favourite images (below), I also hear that there is going to be a television ad featuring the singer so keep your eyes peeled!

Another great thing about this campaign is that Lana is a healthy role model, H&M have been criticised in the past for using too skinny and unhealthy models in their imagery which had caused a harsh reaction from the public. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction for H&M and using appropriate models.

What do you think? Is Lana a good fit for the brand? And who else would you like to see campaign for H&M? Let me know in the comment box below!

Lust List - Week #4

I bought a onesie!

Okay, so i'm a little late on this hype but I've struggled to find a onesie that is actually decent quality and not too 'costumey'.

Obviously, the original 'One-Piece's are the nicest ones out there, but they cost around £120 which is far too steep for something that will just be worn around the house!

You can see the originals here - http://www.onepiece.co.uk/shop/category/view:1

Anyway, the other day I was in New Look and I spotted a brilliant OnePiece lookalike for only £19.99 so I bought it, and I must say it is the most comfortable thing in the world! I honestly never want to take it off!

Here is a picture of what mine looks like:

Have any of you found some super comfy all-in-ones on the hight street? Let me know in the comments section!

My Eyeliner Look

I recently got bored with my eyeliner style so I thought I'd vamp it up a bit with some eyeshadow. A short while ago I purchased an Avon eyeshadow quad in 'Smoky Eyes' (£8.50 avonshop.co.uk) and I hadn't really used it so thought this would be a perfect time to try it out!

I am fully aware that my eyeliner style is very heavy and is probably more suited for most peoples 'going-out' make-up, but I just thought I'd share it with you. I only use normal cosmetics, nothing super fancy here so the look is affordable for everyone. I have only used the Avon eyeshadow quad (only the white and black shades), Collection 2000 liquid eyeliner and Rimmel 100% waterproof mascara in 'Black Black'.

I won't bore you all with a step by step how-to but I'll briefly explain how to do this as it's very simple.

1 - Sweep your entire lid with a fine coating of the white shade (top left).
2 - Dab the outer corner of your eye with the black shade (top right) and blend upwards.
3 - Curl eyelashes and put mascara on.
4 - Apply liquid eyeliner as desired, mine also lines the bottom of my eyes.
5 - Make any needed eyeshadow/liner touch ups and voila, you're done!

What do you think of this look?
