My Eyeliner Look

I recently got bored with my eyeliner style so I thought I'd vamp it up a bit with some eyeshadow. A short while ago I purchased an Avon eyeshadow quad in 'Smoky Eyes' (£8.50 avonshop.co.uk) and I hadn't really used it so thought this would be a perfect time to try it out!

I am fully aware that my eyeliner style is very heavy and is probably more suited for most peoples 'going-out' make-up, but I just thought I'd share it with you. I only use normal cosmetics, nothing super fancy here so the look is affordable for everyone. I have only used the Avon eyeshadow quad (only the white and black shades), Collection 2000 liquid eyeliner and Rimmel 100% waterproof mascara in 'Black Black'.

I won't bore you all with a step by step how-to but I'll briefly explain how to do this as it's very simple.

1 - Sweep your entire lid with a fine coating of the white shade (top left).
2 - Dab the outer corner of your eye with the black shade (top right) and blend upwards.
3 - Curl eyelashes and put mascara on.
4 - Apply liquid eyeliner as desired, mine also lines the bottom of my eyes.
5 - Make any needed eyeshadow/liner touch ups and voila, you're done!

What do you think of this look?

Topshop Lipstick

When Topshop first brought out their make-up line I had high hopes, the packaging was lovely and the price was reasonable so I purchased the concealer. However, to be perfectly honest I found it, adequate. This is probably because I need quite high coverage and this was a bit to sheer for me!

Anyway, when shopping in the sales on Monday I went into Topshop to look through their reductions and the only thing that caught my eye was one little black box, the last lipstick left in the accessories sale. I looked at the colour and saw it was a pale pink called 'Pillow Talk', I wear different shades of pink lipstick everyday so I thought I'd give it a go! It was reduced to £3.00 (£2.70 with student discount) and according to the website they are usually £8.00 so mine was a bargain! I actually really love this shade as it's much paler and more subtle than my usual lipsticks, it's also really creamy and doesn't dry out my lips.

The only complaint I have is that it needs to be re-applied fairly often, and if I'd paid full price that might annoy me a little.

If you have tried any other forms of Topshop make-up please let me know what you think of them!

Summer Hair

Every now and then we all get bored with our hairstyles and opt for a change. I am currently LOVING the bright dip-dye trend and thought I'd whack some pink in my blonde hair.

Unfortunately I know all too well that getting bright colours back out of your hair is far, far more difficult than putting it in. Also, for some people, it is not an option to have brightly coloured streaks as it is not suitable for  their workplace or other similar reasons.

Enter my solution - EXTENSIONS!

For those who don't use extensions, they may sound scary, but honestly they aren't. They are a brilliant way of adding thickness, length or colour to your hair with the added benefit of being able to remove them in minutes. I always go for clip-ins as bonds can be very expensive and also damage your real hair.

The key is to find extensions that are a very close match to your hair colour, I buy mine off eBay and pay around £25 for a full set in 18 inch length. The dye I used for mine (around £3.00, also eBay) is by Directions and the colour is 'Rubine'.

Anyway, this is how I achieved my summer hair-over...

I painted the tips of my hair extensions with the dye using a bleach brush,  I then diluted some of the dye with conditioner and painted up towards the clips. Doing this makes the colour develop on a gradient, which I personally prefer.

With this particular dye you only need to leave it to develop for 20 minutes or so, then rinse the dye out completely and either leave to air-dry or use a hair dryer.

This is the end result:

If you want your hair to look completely dip-dyed (rather than streaky like mine) be sure to buy hair extensions that are longer than your hair and they will create a block colour!

DON'T FORGET -
For streaks of colour you can buy pre-dyed clip-in streaks for around £3 each, check out eBay or Wig shops on your high street!

ASOS Sale Finds...

If you don't know already, I am a HUGE asos fan! Other than H&M (my place of work) it is pretty much the only place I shop, with free delivery to boot!

I love Asos because you can find little things that not many people have and it's a much more diverse place to find things you like.

Currently the summer sale is on and they have up to 70% off stock so I had a little browse through the jewellery section. I found a 2-pack of toe rings with a gold one saying 'yes' and a silver one saying 'no' on them for £2!

I also ordered these cube stud-drop earrings reduced to only £2.50!

I highly recommend that everyone have a browse through and grab some bargains, the under £20 is excellent!

Kurt Geiger Gold Hi-Tops

I've just been flicking through the current edition of British Vogue when I came across these. In the words of Rachel Zoe - I die.

Its genuinely not very often that I come across things I don't feel like I can live without, or that I can justify purchasing price wise, but I will literally be buying these the day they come out! I cannot wait until they are released in August!
